Maharashtra Polls: MVA Allies NCP, Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress To Contest 85 Seats Each

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena (UBT), has agreed to contest 85 seats each out of a total of 288 seats in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. The remaining seats will be left for smaller parties like Samajwadi Party, PWP, CPI(M), CPI, and AAP. The seat-sharing talks were delayed due to disagreements between Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress, especially in Vidarbha and Mumbai. Aspirants are seeking tickets as the nomination process has begun. The smaller parties are eager to contest under the INDIA bloc banner after the MVA secured a majority of Lok Sabha seats in the state in the previous elections.
