Farmer arrested for death of DMK functionary’s son in Vellore

A 62-year-old farmer named K. Mohan was arrested by the Pernambut police for setting up an illegal live power fence on his coconut grove, which led to the tragic electrocution of a local DMK functionary’s son, S. Prasanth. The farmer had connected a power line from an electric pole to the fence to protect his well and motor pumpset. Prasanth went missing on October 12 and his body was found five days later on the grove. The police investigation revealed that he died of electrocution. Mohan has been taken into custody and further inquiries are ongoing.
