A couple, Chandra Mohan and Dhanalakshmi, got into trouble with the police in Chennai after being stopped while drunk on Santhome’s Loop Road. They insulted and threatened the officers, claimed political connections, and fled the scene. They were later arrested in a hotel in Thoraipakkam. Chandra Mohan, a hotel management graduate, has a family in Velachery, while Dhanalakshmi, who met him through a friend, is married with children in Mylapore. Chandra Mohan apologized in a video released by the police, admitting he had no political influence. The couple is now in Puzhal prison facing charges.
