The Delhi government’s women and child development department has terminated the services of all contractual staff hired by the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) due to complaints of irregularities in their appointments. This decision was made with the approval of the lieutenant governor and has affected 52 employees. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticized the timing of this move, just before Diwali, and accused the BJP of hypocrisy for promising job regularization while terminating these workers’ contracts. An investigation had found that these appointments were made without sanctioned posts and proper procedures, leading to their discontinuation.
