The Thalassery Principal Sessions Court has postponed the hearing of former Kannur district panchayat president P.P. Divya’s anticipatory bail application in connection with the case related to the death of former Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu. The court will now consider the plea on Thursday. Objections to the bail plea were raised by the prosecution, requesting additional time to raise objections. Ms. Divya’s lawyer argued that her actions were meant to highlight corruption and not provoke Naveen Babu. Allegations of a conspiracy involving Ms. Divya and the District Collector have also surfaced, with the police investigating the matter. Reports suggest the CPI’s involvement in a petrol pump issue may have triggered Ms. Divya’s remarks against Naveen Babu.
