In Mumbai, the BJP has announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly polls. The list includes 13 sitting MLAs who have been repeated for their constituencies, as well as the nomination of Vinod Shelar from Malad West, the brother of the party’s city unit president. Notably, no candidate has been announced for Borivali, Versova, and Ghatkopar East, raising questions about sitting MLAs from those areas. The list has surprised many as it retained most of the sitting MLAs despite speculation that some would be dropped for lack of performance. Overall, the party’s focus is on candidates who can win and address the issues facing Mumbaikars.
