Police responded to a bomb threat at Belagavi airport in Sambra after the airport director received an email. The email was determined to be a hoax, but the entire airport was thoroughly checked by police and sniffer dogs. The email was traced back to Chennai, and investigations are ongoing to identify the sender. Despite disruptions, no suspicious items were found, and the airport resumed normal operations. Similar hoax threats have been reported at airports across the country. The incident has been reported to the police for further action.
