General Electric has announced that its LM2500 marine engines will power the Indian Navy’s Next Generation Missile Vessels being built by Cochin Shipyard Limited. GE Aerospace will deliver six engine kits to be assembled and tested by HAL in Bengaluru. The engines are known for their power and reliability, making them ideal for the NGMV mission. This collaboration between GE Aerospace and HAL demonstrates strong support for Make-In-India initiatives. The NGMV will feature advanced anti-surface weapons and a maximum speed of 35 knots. Deliveries are set to begin in March 2027.
