Sixteen start-ups in the assistive technology sector were awarded seed grants of up to ₹5 lakh during the Empower 2024 event at the National Institute for Speech and Hearing (NISH). The event, organized by NCPEDP in partnership with GDI Hub’s Attvaran, aims to bring together stakeholders in assistive technologies. The NCPEDP Assistive Technology Hub, supported by Mphasis F1 Foundation, was also launched at the event to provide resources for start-ups to develop scalable solutions for India’s accessibility needs. A ‘pitch day’ saw 25 start-ups present their ideas, with 16 receiving seed grants and six others offered mentoring opportunities to refine their business models.
