State troopers, NYPD descend on AOC’s ‘Red Light’ neighborhood to tackle crime

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district are concerned about the rampant illegal prostitution happening on the streets, with brothels being raided but few arrests leading to prosecution. Police recently raided a suspected brothel in the area, arresting three women, but the same location had been raided previously with no lasting impact. The district is filled with migrant prostitutes offering their services 24/7, with some even being involved in sex trafficking. Rep. Cortez has yet to respond to inquiries about the situation, but Rep. Grace Meng is grateful for efforts to combat the illegal activities in the neighborhood.
