Congress and Samajwadi Party are in talks about the distribution of seats for upcoming bypolls in Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party spokesperson said Congress has agreed to contest only two out of the 10 seats, giving the rest to SP. However, Congress state President said they are not aware of this agreement and stand by their demand for five seats. Bypolls are set to be held in 10 assembly seats, with nine seats falling vacant after MLAs were elected as MPs and one seat due to disqualification of a SP MLA. The polling is scheduled for November 13.
