K Marigowda, the chairperson of Mysuru Urban Development Authority, resigned amid allegations of irregularities in site allotments to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife. Marigowda cited health issues and the Chief Minister’s request as reasons for his resignation. The BJP dubbed it as the “MUDA scam” and demanded Siddaramaiah’s resignation. Siddaramaiah’s wife returned the sites, and MUDA accepted them back. The Karnataka High Court dismissed Siddaramaiah’s plea challenging prosecution in the alleged scam. Siddaramaiah denies all charges and calls it a political conspiracy. BJP spokesperson called for his immediate resignation.
