Increase access to assistive devices for physically challenged: Bindu

Minister R. Bindu highlighted the importance of assistive technology in promoting inclusivity for individuals with disabilities at the ‘Empower 2024’ conference. She stressed the need for increased accessibility to assistive devices to integrate people with disabilities into society and boost their self-confidence. Dr. Bindu called on higher education institutions to lead research initiatives for affordable assistive devices. The conference, focusing on the future of AT, is the first of its kind in Kerala. The inaugural edition of NISH’s online magazine, Iris, was also launched during the event.
