Kaziranga National Park records 446 butterfly species – Times of India



Dr. Monsoon Jyoti Gogoi has recorded over 446 butterfly species in Kaziranga National Park, making it the second-highest concentration in India after Namdapha National Park. The survey was conducted in different parts of the park, revealing 18 new butterfly species in the country. Gogoi’s work highlights the rich diversity of butterflies in Kaziranga and emphasizes the need for conservation efforts to protect their habitats. The Chief Minister’s Office congratulated Gogoi for his significant contribution to butterfly research in the region.
