Dr. B.S. Shiju, chairman of the Kerala unit of All India Congress Committee’s research division, has filed a complaint demanding the cancellation of a controversial petrol pump allotment in Cheranmula, Kannur. This comes after allegations of bribery linked to the approval process and the death of Kannur’s Additional District Magistrate. The applicant for the pump reportedly admitted to paying a bribe to secure a no-objection certificate just before the ADM’s death. Dr. Shiju highlighted serious allegations of corruption and undue influence, calling for transparency in the allotment process. Suresh Gopi’s office has instructed officials to investigate and take action against those involved in the irregularities.
