AICC general secretary KC Venugopal visited Bengaluru primarily for a PAC meeting but also met with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar to discuss ongoing political battles and internal conflicts within the Congress party in Karnataka. The focus of the discussions was on preparations for the upcoming bypolls and the selection of candidates. Venugopal advised Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar to control activities of senior ministers that could harm the party’s image and emphasized the importance of winning all three seats in the bypolls. Deputy CM Shivakumar stated that KPCC will submit a final report on probable candidates to the party high command in the next few days.
