Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy is pushing for the completion of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel by December 2026. This tunnel, once completed, will be the world’s largest irrigation tunnel without intermediary audits. The government has allocated funds for the project, which will benefit the fluoride-affected Nalgonda district. Additionally, other irrigation projects in the area are also being expedited to provide water to thousands of acres of land and villages. Reddy also directed officials to address weak spots in the Nagarjunasagar left main canal to ensure efficient water flow. The meeting was attended by various officials and representatives from the executing agencies.
