Noida International Airport (NIA) has achieved a significant milestone by completing the calibration of its Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI). This crucial step, supported by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), ensures high safety standards for aircraft operations at the airport. The ILS is a navigation system that helps pilots land safely, especially in low visibility conditions like fog or rain. It consists of a localizer and glide path antenna for precise guidance during landings. The PAPI, on the other hand, provides visual cues about the correct descent angle during final approach. The successful calibration of both systems is a major achievement as NIA prepares for its operational launch.
