Ghulam Ahmad Mir Appointed Congress Legislature Party Leader In Jammu & Kashmir

The Congress party appointed Ghulam Ahmad Mir as the Legislature Party leader in Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of the formation of the National Conference-Congress coalition government in the union territory. Mir, who won the Dooru assembly seat with a record margin, was chosen by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The decision was made after the Jammu and Kashmir Congress Legislature Party met in Srinagar and left the nomination to the central leadership in New Delhi. The alliance between Congress and National Conference secured a significant number of seats in the recent election in the union territory. Chief Minister-designate Omar Abdullah is set to take oath of office, with prominent political leaders expected to be present at the ceremony.
