Restoration of Danish fort and Governor’s bungalow at Tharangambadi set to be completed by November



The Danish Fort and Governor’s Bungalow in Tharangambadi, Mayiladuthurai district, are undergoing restoration work expected to be completed by November. The projects are being carried out by the Heritage Wing of the Public Works Department and supervised by the State Department of Archaeology. The Danish Fort, built in 1620, is known for its unique architectural features and is a key tourist attraction. The Governor’s Bungalow, built in 1793, is also being restored. The projects include various repairs and upgrades to preserve the historical significance of these landmarks and boost tourism in the region.
