The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a compact SUV with a 1.5-litre engine producing 102 bhp and 136 Nm of torque, available in both manual and automatic transmission options. It recently joined the Kerala police fleet as a modern successor to the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy. Launched in June 2023, the five-door Jimny is priced between Rs 12.74 lakh and ₹14.95 lakh. However, despite initial interest, sales have been declining, prompting the company to offer discounts. The Jimny faced competition from the Mahindra Thar due to its lower power output and wrong positioning as a lifestyle vehicle rather than a family SUV.
