The Election Committee of the State unit of the Congress will be meeting in Thiruvananthapuram on October 14 to finalize candidates for the upcoming bypoll. They plan to announce their list of candidates shortly after the Election Commission of India announces the poll schedule. The party is also preparing for civic polls early next year and discussing delegation of powers and responsibilities. The meeting was attended by senior leaders including KPCC president K. Sudhakaran, AICC general secretary K. C. Venugopal, and Opposition leader V. D. Satheesan. Political circles in the State anticipate the ECI’s poll announcement soon.
