Porsche Taycan sales slump drastically, Cayenne and Macan save the day

Porsche Taycan’s sales have seen a significant decline of 50% to just 14,000 units between January and September this year. This drop is attributed to the decreasing demand for electric vehicles globally. On the other hand, SUVs like Cayenne and Macan have experienced growth, with a 21% and 20% increase in sales respectively during the same period. The decline in sales is particularly notable in China, a key market for Porsche, where the electric vehicle market has been facing challenges due to the withdrawal of government incentives and increasing ownership costs. Overall, Porsche’s global output has decreased by 7% to 226,026 units, with sales dropping in North America while witnessing a slight increase in Europe.
