A recent study found that extreme rainfall events can increase the risk of death, particularly from heart and lung conditions. Researchers analyzed data from over 62,000 rainfall events worldwide and found a significant increase in deaths following extreme weather. Daily rainfall intensity was linked to higher risks of cardiovascular and respiratory mortality.
