‘Passing A File Doesn’t Mean Work is Over’: PM Modi’s Reminder to Ministers on Grievance Redressal



During a recent council of ministers meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the importance of addressing public grievances promptly. He reminded his colleagues that they are in power because of the people’s support and urged them to ensure complaints are resolved effectively. PM Modi instructed ministers to not just pass complaints along but to follow through until they are resolved. He emphasized the need for a weekly review of grievance redressal and designated a senior minister to monitor the process. The PM highlighted the success of the PMO in addressing complaints and encouraged ministers to engage with redressal officers. The CPGRAMS platform allows citizens to lodge complaints online, and the government has made significant progress in reducing redressal time. PM Modi’s focus on good governance and development by 2047 was reiterated, with an emphasis on performance as a key factor. The PM urged bureaucrats to work efficiently and compared the journey of a file to that of a human soul seeking salvation. This meeting marked the second under Modi’s current government, with a strong emphasis on delivering effective governance.
