Pune Metro Plans To Boost Train Frequency To Every 3 Minutes During Rush Hour

Pune Metro has experienced a significant increase in daily ridership, reaching 1.5 lakh in September compared to 50,000 last year. To reduce wait times during peak hours, the frequency of trains is set to increase to every three minutes after the full operation of the PCMCSwargate and Vanaz-Ramwadi routes. Currently, trains run every seven minutes during rush hours, with plans to gradually reduce this to three minutes. Studies are being conducted to determine the technical requirements for these enhancements. Commuters have noted crowded trains during peak times and suggested operating longer trains. Improving last-mile connectivity to Metro stations is also a priority for enhancing the overall commuting experience.
