The governments of Maharashtra and Jharkhand are mourning the passing of Ratan Tata, a renowned industrialist and philanthropist who transformed the Tata Group into a global conglomerate. The national tricolour will be flown at half-mast in Maharashtra, and all entertainment events have been called off for the day. Jharkhand has also declared a day of mourning to honor Tata’s contributions to the state. Tata’s mortal remains will be placed for public viewing in Mumbai before his funeral in Worli. Leaders and politicians have expressed their deep sorrow and admiration for Tata’s legacy of entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and compassion.
