Mumbai’s Taloja jail constable on duty held for possessing narcotics worth Rs 10 lakh



A 38-year-old constable at Taloja central prison has been arrested for secretly bringing in narcotics worth around Rs 10 lakhs inside the prison by hiding them in his tiffin box bag during his night shift duty. He intended to sell the drugs to undertrials who are addicted to drugs. The constable, identified as Anil Jadhav, has been deployed at the prison for five years. The drugs found in his possession included Ganja, Charas, MDMA (Ecstasy tablets), and ‘Gogo’ rolling papers used for smoking Ganja. The Kharghar police were informed and seized the contraband.
