The obstacle limitation survey (OLS) for Pune Airport has been completed, allowing for the extension of the runway and paving the way for international flight operations. The positive response to the OLS indicates progress, with code ‘E’ aircraft being permitted for international flights. Various topics were discussed in a high-level meeting, including land acquisition and plans for a new terminal building. With an extension of approximately 800 meters, the total runway length would reach around 10,940 feet, enabling larger aircraft to land. The estimated cost for site acquisition is approximately ₹160 crore.
