The construction of a new terminal at the Ernakulam bus station in Kerala will start in November as part of the modernization project. The terminal, inspired by the Vyttila Mobility Hub, will cater to both KSRTC and private buses. The project is being managed by the Kerala State Construction Corporation Ltd. A meeting in Thiruvananthapuram involving various officials has decided to expedite the work, with around ₹12 crore allocated for the project. The facility will incorporate suggestions from studies by research centers and steps will be taken to address waterlogging. The hub at Karikkamuri will benefit from its proximity to the railway and metro stations.
