Manoj Makwana, a former councillor in Ahmedabad, was attacked while overseeing the demolition of an apartment scheme in Khokhra. The attack was allegedly carried out by five individuals who had illegal shops and houses in the scheme. Makwana, who is the president of the Ekta Apartment Association, filed a complaint against the attackers for various charges including rioting and unlawful assembly. The incident occurred as Makwana and authorities were demolishing the old structure of the Ekta Apartments scheme, with some members refusing to vacate their premises. The attackers, including Suresh and Sandeep, were unhappy with the demolition and physically assaulted Makwana. He was later taken to a hospital and filed a complaint with the police.
