Gun safety group Everytown pours $9 million into state legislative races

Everytown for Gun Safety, the political arm of the gun safety advocacy organization, plans to spend $9 million to support Democratic candidates in state legislative races in five states. The group’s investment will focus on digital and TV ads in Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania, where partisan control of legislative chambers is up for grabs in November. Everytown President John Feinblatt stated that state-level laws have been crucial in advancing gun safety measures and the group is working to elect candidates who prioritize keeping communities safe from gun violence. The campaign is part of Everytown’s larger $45 million spending plans for the election cycle, joining other outside groups supporting Democratic candidates in key battleground states.
