AQI: Mumbai’s Air Quality Hits ‘Poor’ for First Time This Season – Health Alerts Issued | Mumbai News

The air quality in Mumbai has worsened, with the city’s air quality index hitting 116 on Tuesday. Suburbs like BKC, Sewri, and Govandi reported poor air quality, causing breathing discomfort for many residents. The smog is a result of low wind speed and moisture, trapping smoke and dust in the air. Experts predict more foggy days ahead due to La Nina’s oceanic cooling effect. It is recommended to stay indoors, wear a mask if going outside, and avoid outdoor activities. The withdrawal of monsoon in Mumbai has not yet occurred, contributing to the poor air quality.
