The city corporation in Thiruvananthapuram has launched MRFs in different wards as part of the Malinyamukta Nava Keralam initiative for better waste management. Mayor Arya Rajendran inaugurated the facility at Maruthurkkadavu, while health standing committee chairperson Gayathri Babu opened the ones at Jagathy and Vazhayila stadium. Various waste management facilities have been set up across the city, including Thumboormuzhi units, mini MCFs, dry leaf collection chambers, portable bins, steel twin bins, and more. Cameras have also been installed at key locations to prevent illegal waste dumping. The mayor emphasized the importance of using these systems for proper waste processing.
