The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, saw a significant increase in passenger numbers during the Onam festival. From September 1 to 17, over 2.36 lakh passengers passed through the airport, a 14% growth from the previous year. Domestic passengers outnumbered international travelers, with over 1.3 lakh domestic flyers compared to 1.12 lakh international passengers. The airport’s strategic location as a transit hub to Gulf countries via Mumbai has contributed to the rise in domestic passenger traffic. To ensure a smooth travel experience during the festive season, the airport implemented various measures, including deploying additional staff.
