White Sox lose 119th game, 1 away from ’62 Mets

The Chicago White Sox tied the American League record with their 119th loss, matching the mark set in 2003 by the Detroit Tigers. The San Diego Padres defeated the White Sox 6-2, with Xander Bogaerts and Elias Diaz both hitting two-run homers. The White Sox are now on pace for 124 losses this season. Despite the losses, the White Sox have been putting up a fight and not making it easy for their opponents. The Padres are now closer to securing a playoff spot, maintaining a two-game lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks for the top NL wild card spot. The White Sox will look to avoid setting a new record for losses in their final seven games.
