At least 19 killed in coal mine blast in Iran’s Tabas

A devastating explosion at a coal mine in Tabas, Iran has resulted in 19 deaths and 17 injuries. The explosion was caused by a methane leak in the mine, located 540 kilometers southeast of Tehran. Emergency personnel have been dispatched to the area to assist. Iran is known for its oil production but also mines coal, with domestic production falling short of demand.
