Switzerland’s biodiversity has been declining, with a high number of threatened species and environments. The government currently invests around $700 million annually towards biodiversity preservation, but environmental organizations believe more funding and protected areas are necessary. Switzerland’s biodiversity protection is considered insufficient, with half of natural environments and a third of natural spaces at risk.
