Arizona Supreme Court decides nearly 100,000 voters will get full ballot access after clerical error

The Arizona Supreme Court ruled that nearly 98,000 Arizonans whose voter registration status was in question can participate in the full ballot in November. This uncertainty arose from a clerical error in 2004 that incorrectly granted voting registration status to these individuals. The court’s decision was praised by both Democratic and Republican officials, with Arizona’s Democratic secretary of state calling it a victory for voting rights. The issue was resolved quickly, allowing these voters to cast their votes at both the federal and local levels. Early voting in Arizona begins on Oct. 9.
