The police have blocked cargo vehicles from entering West Bengal from Jharkhand at the Duburdih Check Post since 7 pm on Thursday, causing long queues on the Delhi-Kolkata highway. This action was taken in response to Jharkhand releasing excess water from dams, leading to flooding in parts of Bengal. The West Bengal government is displeased with Jharkhand’s actions and has severed ties with the Damodar Valley Corporation. JMM has threatened to stop cargo trucks heading to West Bengal in retaliation. The situation is tense between the two states, with both threatening similar actions.
