Deputy tahsildar suspended for defamatory post against MLA

A deputy tahsildar named A. Pavithran in Vellarikund taluk was suspended by the Kasaragod District Collector for posting a defamatory statement on social media against a local MLA. The MLA filed a complaint after seeing the post on September 12, and even though Pavithran apologized and deleted the post, he was still suspended. The Collector mentioned that Pavithran had been warned before about his behavior, and this suspension was due to repeated violations and damage to the Revenue department’s reputation. The suspension order was issued on September 20, 2024.
