The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president, Y.S. Sharmila, has demanded a CBI inquiry into the controversy surrounding the use of animal fat in Tirupati laddoo prasadam. Sharmila stated that the Congress wants the truth to come out as this issue affects millions of people. The feud between former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and current Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu over the controversy was called “appalling” by Sharmila. The Congress Party has submitted a formal letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs requesting a thorough investigation into the allegations. The controversy began when Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of using substandard ingredients in the laddoos, which was denied by Jagan Mohan Reddy. Jagan claimed that Naidu’s allegations were an attempt to divert attention from his governance.
