Kerala Women’s Commission Chairperson P. Sathidevi highlighted the need for pre-marital counselling services at the local level to address marital discord among couples. She emphasized that many complaints received by the Commission were related to relationship issues between spouses, indicating a lack of pre-marital support. Sathidevi recommended the implementation of pre-marital counselling by the State government to promote harmony in marriages. She also suggested making a pre-marital counselling certificate mandatory for marriage registration to raise awareness about the importance of marital relationships and family life.
