The junior doctors in Kolkata have announced the end of their 41-day sit-in and have decided to partially resume their duties in state-run hospitals. They will focus on emergency and essential services while also setting up medical camps in flood-affected areas. The Chief Secretary issued directives for the safety and security of healthcare professionals, which the doctors considered a partial victory. They will continue their fight for justice for the RG Kar victim and for a safer environment in medical colleges. The doctors will continue their demonstrations and plan to go to the Supreme Court if needed.
