Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised voters for their high turnout in the first phase of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He promised to restore statehood and criticized the Gandhis, Abdullahs, and Muftis for the instability in the region. Modi highlighted the positive changes in Kashmir and accused regional parties of causing the migration of Kashmiri Pandits. He emphasized the need for a peaceful and prosperous Kashmir and urged people to vote for the BJP. Modi pledged to work towards a terror-free J&K and provide employment opportunities. He also offered condolences to the family of Shafi Pandit, the first IAS officer from Kashmir.
