National award-winning choreographer Jani Master has been accused of raping a 21-year-old colleague. The case comes amidst the ongoing wave of sexual harassment charges in the Malayalam film industry. Celebrities like Samantha and Lakshmi Manchu have urged the Telangana government to release a report on sexual harassment and gender discrimination in the Telugu film industry. The woman, also a choreographer, alleges that Jani Master assaulted her on multiple occasions since 2019. She claims he threatened her and physically abused her, with his wife also being involved in the abuse. The case has been registered under various IPC sections based on her complaint.
