The Carolina Panthers have decided to bench Bryce Young, the former first overall pick, in favor of veteran Andy Dalton as the starting quarterback. Head coach Dave Canales, along with general manager Dan Morgan and executive vice president Brandt Tillis, made the decision after Young’s poor performance in a 26-3 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite initially stating that Young would remain the starter, Canales believes that Dalton gives the team the best chance to win. Dalton, who last started for the Panthers in 2023, has a proven track record as a starting quarterback in the NFL. The Panthers, off to an 0-2 start, hope this change will lead to better results on the field.
