Social activist Anna Hazare reiterated his advice to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to focus on social work instead of politics. Hazare, who had worked with Kejriwal during the anti-corruption movement in 2011, said that he had warned Kejriwal against joining politics, but he never listened. After Kejriwal announced his decision to step down as Delhi Chief Minister, Hazare expressed that it was unfortunate but not unexpected. Kejriwal, who was released on bail from Tihar Jail, stated that he would not sit in the CM’s chair until he is acquitted by the court and suggested early polls in Delhi. The two leaders had collaborated during the Anna movement against corruption, where Kejriwal later transitioned into politics, forming the Aam Aadmi Party.
