Tropical Storm Ileana made landfall in the Mexican state of Sinaloa after hitting Los Cabos. It formed off Mexico’s Pacific coast and had winds of 40 mph as it moved ashore. The storm is expected to weaken into a tropical depression as it moves over the Gulf of California. Authorities in Los Cabos suspended classes and prepared shelters for residents. In Cabo San Lucas, some roads were flooded and resorts stacked sandbags as a precaution. Despite the rain and choppy waves, guests remained calm. Safety is a priority, with workers checking on colleagues in risky areas. Ileana was the only active tropical storm in the Eastern Pacific basin at the time.
