Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently flagged off two new Vande Bharat trains for Tamil Nadu, the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil and Madurai-Bengaluru services. The fare details for these premium trains were announced by the Southern Railway, with prices varying based on the class and destination. The Egmore-Nagercoil train features 16 coaches, while the Madurai-Bengaluru service will have eight. These new trains aim to reduce travel time and provide faster connectivity between different cities. PM Modi emphasized the importance of improving rail transport in southern states for overall development. Additionally, a new Vande Bharat Express connecting Meerut and Lucknow was also inaugurated to further enhance rail connectivity in the region.
